Eliza Ellen Covey Akers Larue, 79, of Route 1 (Thornspring Road), Pulaski, died early today in the Pulaski Community Hospital. Born Dec. 25,1911 in Pulaski, she was the daughter of the late Frank Eugene Covey & Carrie Smith Covey. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jesse Wade Akers and Walter Larue; a grandson, Kevin Blake Graham; a great-grandson, Anthony Michael Jamison; and a sister, Virginia Johnston. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy, Dublin. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Edna M. Sheppard and Sue E. Jamison, both of Pulaski, Mrs. Ralph (Catherine) Roseberry of Draper and Mrs. Melvin (Sadie) Graham of Dublin; four sons, Melvin W. Akers of Bland, Frankie J. Akers of Draper, Douglas E. Akers of Pulaski and William J. Akers of Barren Springs; one sister, Annie Boyd of Pulaski; 29 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski, with the Rev. Lora Irene Linville and the Rev. Cecil Frazier officiating. Burial will follow in the Newborn, Cemetery, Newbern. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski. The family will meet at the home of her son, Douglas E. Akers, 237 Whitaker Lane, Pulaski, where friends may call anytime. Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski, is in charge of arrangements.
