G.H. Prestridge, 50 years of age, and a resident of Johnson county for 46 years, died at his home in Albarado at 9:25 Sunday night. His death came at the end of a week's serious illness due primarily to kidney trouble, though he was afflicted with a complication of diseases. He came to Alvarado 46 years ago last December and has resided continuously in the same place since that time.
He leaves a wife, two small children, a boy and a girl, and three grown daughters, two of whom are married, and one step-daughter. He is survived by a brother, C.H. Prestridge of Rising Star; W.A. Prestridge, a half-brother who is living in Brazil, J.T. Barbour, another half-brother who is keeper of the Cleburne Country Club; Mrs. A.C. Speers, of Dallas, a half-sister; and two other sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Vernon of Oklahoma and Mrs. Annie Black of Ellis county. Several of his brothers and sisters were at his bedside when the end came. Mr. Prestridge was a highly esteemed citizen of his town and county, a member of the Baptist church, and known as a man of honor and integrity. He will be buried Tuesday morning at Alvarado.
