Graveside services for Samuel Woodrow Wilson Moore, 81, Grand Junction, Colo., will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Texico Cemetery. The Rev. Bob Brown will officiate.
Callahan-Edfast Mortuary of Grand Junction is handling arrangements.
Mr. Moore died Tuesday, April 11, at his home. He was born March 27, 1914, in Kiowa County, Okla. He spent his childhood in the Oklahoma area and graduated from Hammon High School. He had lived in Texico, Lazbuddie, Texas, Hammon, Socorro and Pie Town and moved to Grand Juction in 1988. His interests were reading, gardening and handiwork of all kinds. He was a machinist and owned and operated Moore's Welding Shop. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Grand Junction.
Survivors include his wife, Iona Moore, of the home; one son, Harold Woodrow Moore, Grants; 5 daughters, Georgia Mae Parks, Hereford, Texas, Elma Fay Tullis, Houston, Virginia Rae Shoemaker and Rachel Ann Moore, both of Odessa, Texas, and Joyce Irene Colby, Brighton, Colo.; three sisters, Bonnie Malson, Hammon, Fleta Hill, Mangum, Okla.; 26 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Grand Valley, P. O. Box 60307, Grand Junction, Colo. 81506.
Viewing will be at Steed-Todd Funeral Home from 9 am. to 1 p.m. Friday.
