MARY WILLIAMS
Malad - Mrs. Mary Penelope Thompson Williams, 91, died at her home Sunday after a long illness.
She was born Aug. 9, 1868, at Clarkston, Cache County, Utah, a daughter of Joseph and Hannah Crompton Thompson.
She was married to Arthur M. Williams April 13, 1889, at Malad. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple Oct. 24, 1889. Mr. Williams died Nov. 20, 1940.
She received her education in Clarkston and lived in Malad for 72 years.
She was a work instructor in the Relief Society for many years.
Survivors include three sons and seven daughters, Arthur T. Williams, Malad; Sam H. Williams, Salt Lake City; Clyde Thompson, Wise River, Mont.; Mrs. Hugh Morris, Ogden; Mrs. Harold Jones, Ogden; Mrs. Jack Owman, Pocatello; Mrs. Lorin Folland, Sr., Salt Lake; Mrs. James Jardine, Clarkston; Mrs. Sadie Campbell, Pasadena, Calif., and Mrs. Glen Bennett, Hawthorne, Calif.
She is also survived by 44 grandchildren, 140 great-grandchildren, and 22 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Malad Third Ward LDS Chapel with Bishop Hubert Gleed officiating. Friends may call at the family home, 337 North 100 West, Wednesday evening and Thursday prior to services. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery under the direction of the Benson Funeral Home.
