Willard LeRoy Bowden, 81, of 526 E 15th St, Eldon, died Saturday, Nov 8, 1975 at Charles E Still Hospital, Jefferson City. Mr Bowden was a retired railroad switchman and brakeman.
He was born Sept, 22, 1894 at Tuscumbia to Charles a and Eliza Olive (Wright) Bowden. He was married March 8, 1947, at Kansas City to Louise Odom, who survives at the home.
Mr. Bowden retired from the Rock Island on Nov. 4, 1949, after 39 years with the company. He was a member of the Eldon First Christian Church.
In addition to his wife, Mr Bowden leaves a son, Ralph Bowden of Kansas City; and two brothers, Otto Bowden of Eldon and Lester Bowden of Whittier, Calif.
Funeral services were held at the 10:30am Monday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev Walter Simpson officiated. Burial was in the Eldon Cemeter
