Ada friends were deeply grieved, Tuesday, to learn of the death early that morning, of Mrs. Tony (Anthony) Legross, of this city, which occurred at the Ada Hospital, where she had been a patient for a little more that a week. Although it was realized for a few days, that her condition was critical, word of her passing, nevertheless, came as a shock and surprise to many local people, who were in hopes that she might survive her illness.

Mrs. Legross had been in ill health for some time, but for the most part, was always able to be up and about. A little more than a week ago, she became more seriously ill and was taken to the hospital for treatment, but to no avail, and she passed away peacefully, about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 29th. Death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage.

Mrs. Legross, whose maiden name was Hilda Loyd, was born at Lake Mary, in Wright County, this state, on January 11, 1884. She resided there until she was eleven years old, at which time she moved with her parents to Porcupine, Wis. Here they resided for the next six years, and in 1901, moved to Norman County, her parents operating a store at Betcher, in Green Meadow Township, for a number of years.

She was united in marriage in Ada, on August 22, 1908, to Tony Legross, and they have made their home in the Ada vicinity, since that time.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one sister, Mrs. C. M. Lunde of Grygla, Minn.; and two brothers: Albert Loyd, also of Grygla, and Walter Loyd of Argyle.

She was preceded in death by her father, who died Sept. 3, 1931; her mother, who died Dec. 30, 1937; one brother, Sigurd, who passed away Oct. 5, 1900; and one sister, Hannah, who died August 10, 1935.

Mrs. Legross was well known throughout the community and highly esteemed and respected by all. She was a member of the Methodist Church and took an active part in the activities of the Church and the Ladies Aid. She was a good neighbor and will be greatly missed, not only by the immediate family, but by a large circle of friends and acquaintances.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon, of this week, at the home in Ada, at 2 o'clock, and at the Methodist Church, at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. C. E. Wittrup, will officiate at the rites.

Pallbearers will be J. J. Teters, Martin Visser, Gust Anderson, Mike Roesch, Lawrence Peterson, and J. L. Anderson.

Interment will be in the Ada cemetery.
