Marvin John Davis, son of Stuart D. and Laura M. (Nelson) Davis, was born February 10, 1930 near Ruthven, Iowa. He attended Oak Park Academy in Nevada, Iowa and Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska.
On September 22, 1949, Marvin married Benita Herwehe in Nevada, Iowa. To this union three daughters were born.
Marvin farmed in the area his entire life raising Appaloosa Horses, Longhorn Cattle and sheep. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church where he held various offices in the church.
Marvin died Friday, October 1, 1999, at the Spencer Municipal Hospital in Spencer, Iowa, at the age of 69. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Paul Davis.
He is survived by his wife, Benita of Ruthven, IA; his daughters, Cathy Meader of Toddville, IA & her husband Doug, Patti Gregerson of Ute, IA & her husband, David and Linda Swanson of Urbandale, IA & her husband David; his grandchildren, Jessica Gregerson, Jacquelyn Gregerson, Belinda Davis and Christian Meader; his brothers, James Davis of Walla Walla, WA, Charles Davis of Portland, TN and Russell Davis of Ruthven IA; his sister, Marjorie Lyon of Napa, ID; as we as many other relatives and friends.
