Obituary from New Milford Times dated Jan. 3, 1997:

"Arthur U. Baecht, a retired New York City firefighter died Dec. 27 at Candlewood Valley Care Center in New Milford. He was 85.

Mr. Baecht was the husband of the late Audrey Profit Baecht and had lived at 23 Swift Lane, Kent.
He was born Sept. 9, 1911 in New York City, a son of Walter and Anna Ullman Baecht.

Before his retirement, Mr. Baecht had been employed for many years as a firefighter for the New York City Fire Department, working for the Engine Co. #62 in the Bronx, NY.

Mr. Baecht had been a Kent resident since 1978, moving from New Milford. He was a member of St. Luke's Lodge #48 of Masons in Kent and the St. Peter's Lodge of Masons in New Milford.

Mr. Baecht is survived by three duaghters, Audrey J. Rath of Levittown, NY., Barbara A. Baecht of Washinton and Lynn E. Strawson of Brookfield; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Burial was in Woodlawn Cemtery in the Bronx.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Lillis Funeral Home in New Milford."
