"Levi Van Keuren was born 3 Dec 1767 in Kingston Township, the son of Abraham Matthysen Van Keuren (1711 to 1776 ) and his wife Grietjen Nieukirk (1724 to 1804). He first married Catharina Swart b.1781, the daughter of Cornelius Swart and Lena Dubois, on September 1, 1798 in Kingston. They had a daughter, Helena, b. in 1799 who lived only a few months. It is suspected that she died about 1801 in Kingston. Levi next married Maria DeWitt (1768 to 1859), the daughter of Frederick Winne(1723-1757) nd Anna Maria Mareitje DeWitt (1730 to 1814), in Catskill on June 20, 1802. Levi and his new wife moved to what was then the southern part of Saugerties Township (today Ulster Township). Together they had at least four children: Andrew DeWitt VanKeuren 1807-1860; Peter H (1808-1864); Charles (1811-1898); and Catharina Maria b.1813. Levi died in 1822 and his wife survived him until 1859. Both are buried together in the Mt Marion Cemetery." (submitted by FRRoss, #47557508)
