DANVERS--Peter Gerber, 85, resident of Danvers for the last five years, died at 1:45 a.m. Friday at the Mennonite hospital, Bloomington.
Mr. Gerber was born November 15, 1846, in Woodford county, son of Joseph and Magdalene Gerber. He married Miss Catherina Habecker, February 19, 1869. One daughter, Erbine, was born to the couple. Mr. and Mrs. Gerber traveled extensively in the interest of the daughter's health, but lived much of the time at Carlock. The daughter died January 2, 1904. Mrs. Gerber died July 21, 1918.
Since October 1, 1927, Mr. Gerber had lived with his niece, Mrs. C.J. Radcliff of Danvers. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Myers of Normal and one brother, S.J. Gerber of Upland, California. He was a member of the North Danvers Mennonite church. The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday and at 2 p.m. at the North Danvers Church.
