Private John Fahm, of company I, Second Texas regiment, now stationed near Mobile says that soldier Life is not altogether as romantic as he thought it would be. He says that there are about two officers to every private and it keeps one busy saluting them. He is heartily tired of bacon and coffee and wants a clean shirt, not having had one since he left Dallas.
