Merri Lynn (Arave) Stolworthy, 46, of Shelley, died October 1, 1993, at her home following a short illness.

She was born September 12, 1947, at Idaho Falls to Don Edward and Marilyn (Hudman) Arave. She grew up on a farm and graduated from Shelley High School.

On January 27, 1967, she married Jay Lloyd Stolworthy at Idaho Falls. Their marriage was later solemnized at the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She worked as a consultant at Beauty For All Seasons and was chairman of the Miss Russet Pageant for several years. She also worked on the family farm.

She was active in the LDS Church and served as Primary President, Young Women's President, as a teacher in the Primary, Relief Society, and Sunday School, and was serving as counselor in the Shelley South Stake Primary Presidency. She coached baseball and girls softball. She was also a Cub Scout den mother.

Survivors include her husband of Shelley; four sons, Lloyd Don Stolworthy of Provo, Utah; Cory Arave Stolworthy of Logan, Utah; Jason Clay Stolworthy, serving an LDS mission in Seville, Spain; and Adrew J. Stolworthy of Shelley; two daughters, Melissa Kay Stolworthy and Amanda Lynn Stolworthy, both of Shelley; five brothers, Eddie Arave, Duke Arave, Rocky Arave and Eric Arave, all of Shelley, and Scott Arave of Hawaii; three sisters, Mrs. Bo (Patti) Darden, Mrs. Alan (Tammi) Dial, and Mrs. Ted (Stacey) Cox, all of Shelley; and one grandchild. She was preceded in death by two sisters and her parents.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Shelley LDS South Stake Center with Bishop Dale Jolley officiating. the family will meet with friends from 7 to 9 tonight at the stake center and for one hour before the services Monday at the stake center. Burial will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
