A brig is a two masted ship with square rigging on both masts and is used by the military and by sea merchants. In general they plied the coastal shipping routes but could sail across seas.
Nathaniel and Susannah's son, Nathaniel B. Dingley, JR. (memorial no. 8188076) also interred in Pine Grove Cemetery with his spouse.
