Daughter of Lydia Taylor and James Peirce (1807–1874). In the 1860 federal census, her son Joseph V Battin, was living with James, 53, and Lydia Peirce, 53, in West Bradford, Chester County, Pennsylvania.

Codicil to my last will. I hereby add this codicil to my last will and testament, to be taken as a part thereof, as follows,
I give and bequeath to Chas H Swayne the sum of fifty dollars ($50.00) in trust, for the purpose of placing head and foot stones to my grave in The Unionville Cemetery, said stones to be similar to those already there, the balance remaining over and above the cost of said stones to be paid over by the said Chas. H Swayne to the Trustees of said Cemetery company, the interest of which to be used in keeping said grave and stones in repair forever.
In witness thereof I hereunto place my hand and seal this sixteen day of April A.D. 1907.
