In 1959, Brother Paul Schaefer was responsible for finding a new location for the work of the Brothers in Brazil. His investigations led him to many cities, eager for the brothers opened a new school, and the final choice was Campinas, offering the same advantages of São Paulo. The Archbishop, Dom Paulo de Tarso Campos, the mayor, other authorities and the families of the city encouraged the decision in Campinas and gave much support.
Many families are united in seeking to Brother Paul's donation of land and, soon, a wealthy family in São Paulo donated an area of several acres, for the construction of the new school.
The ceremony of launching the foundation stone took place on December 18, 1960 and solemn delivery of the College Notre Dame was on the first of May 1962, the feast of St. Joseph the Worker.
In 1963, Brother Paul Schaefer gave the administration of the school to Brother Jerome Schwabe.
