MCDANIEL BURIED SATURDAY
Funeral services were held Saturday at First Christian Church in Clovis for Mr. Clyde McDaniel, longtime resident of the Texico area. Rodney Conover officiated.
Mr. McDaniel, 65, was a retired farmer. He died March 1 in Clovis Memorial Hospital. He came to this area in 1908 from Missouri with his family. He was born July 30, 1906, in Missouri.
One of the early settlers in this area, Mr. McDaniel sent all of his children to the school in Texico.
He was a member of First Christian Church in Clovis and a member of the Curry County "42" League. Burial was in Texico Cemetery with Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis in chare.
Pallbearers were Claud and James Gillean, Bernard McGregory, John and Willie Wall, James Sutton and T. J. Kittrell. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Smith, Wilby Wiggs, Keith Kendall, Ab Kleeman, Lowie Paul, Melvin Manness, Olan Schlueter, Almer Powell, Ted Engram, Paul and Art Wilson, and members of Curry County "42" League.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby; three sons, Earl of the home, Lester of Clovis and Roy of Muleshoe; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Powell and Mrs. Beulah Wilson of Texico and Mrs. Hazel Dewittie of Daggette, Calif.; two brothers, Charles of Bovina and Lawrence of Texico; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Martin of Albuquerque and Mrs. Alta Lou Kimmons of Winston-Salem, N. M.; and 12 grandchildren.
