Wilma LaBelle Bensinger was born in 1910 to Edward Moses Bensinger and Viola May Jeffrey. She married Ralph Curtis Wilson on 2 Jun 1929 in Clinton County, MI. They are listed together in the 1930 census with a newly born child, Rodney Wilson. Wilma and Ralph divorced in early 1930s and she married Roy Calvin Grubaugh on 1 Jun 1934 in Ashley, Gratiot County, MI. Roy Calvin had previously been married to Della Celesta Weller and had four children with Della. Roy and Della were also divorced in the early 1930s.
In 1940, Roy and Wilma are living in Owosso, Shiawassee County, and Rodney is with them, listed as a Grubaugh. Also with Roy and Wilma was Lyn Leroy Grubaugh, the first of their three children together. Their other two children - Eugene Calvin "Gene" Grubaugh (1941-2011) and Rhea Dawn Grubaugh - came later.

Roy Calvin died in 1973 and Wilma died 23 years later. She never remarried.

Wilma L. Grubaugh, 86, of Brutus, died Apr. 29, 1996 at Northern Michigan Hospital.
Funeral will be 10:30 am Wednesday, May 1, at the Stone Funeral Home in Petoskey. The Rev. Dave Behling will officiate and burial will take place at Conway Cemetery.
Mrs. Grubaugh was born Feb. 26, 1910, in Elsie, MI, the daughter of Edward and Viola (Jeffries) Bensinger. She grew up in Elsie and graduated from Elsie High School.
In June 1934, she married Roy Grubaugh in Ashley, MI. He preceded her in death in 1973.
Mr. and Mrs. Grubaugh moved to the Walloon Lake area from Grayling in 1944. Mrs. Grubaugh made her home there until 1979, when she moved to the Alanson/Brutus area.
Mrs. Grubaugh worked as a telephone operator for a few years. Most her life, she worked as a seamstress from her home.
She enjoyed sewing, gardening and being a grandmother.
Survivors include one daughter, Rhea Blumke, and her husband, Chuck of Brutus; three sons, Rodney J. Wilson of Traverse City, Lyn L. Grubaugh and his wife, Akiko, of Oak Harbor, WA, and Gene C. Grubaugh and wife, Bobbi, of Paris, TN; eight grandchildren; and one sister, Nida Dunham, of Elsie.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alanson Hillside Beautification. Envelopes for memorials are available at the Stone Funeral Home in Petoskey, where visitation will be held from 6-8 pm today, April 30.
