Graveside services for Dorothy Harris, 87, of Longview, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2009, in Old White Oak Cemetery with Robert Ellsworth officiating. Services are under the direction of Welch Funeral Home. Mrs. Harris died on Thursday, May 14, 2009, at a local medical center.
Mrs. Harris was born August 8, 1921, in Postelle, Arkansas, to Guy V. and Alma Gertrude Meeks Patrick. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Glory and Barbara Ann; brother, Guy V. Jr.; daughter, Robin Deatherage; and grandchildren, Dawn and Gray Ellsworth.
Survivors include her husband, J.K. "Red" Harris of Longview; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Robert Ellsworth of South Dakota; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Mary Helen Harris of Gilmer; grandchildren and their spouses, Kent and Melanie Ellsworth, Merit and Jackie Ellsworth, Keen and Sunny Ellsworth, Dain and Lisa Ellsworth, Jim Harris, Jonathan and Nicole Harris, Eric Alban, Jenna Ruth Works, Brandon and Syndee Deatherage, Chance and Cindy Deatherage, Alexa and Josh Bailey, Trace Deatherage, and Darbye Deatherage; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Emma and John Baker; sister, Betty Bowman; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Glenda Patrick; and brother, Fred Patrick.
