Former Ruston Woman Dies in Oklahoma
Mrs. R. T. Moore received a telegram Monday, saying that Mrs. W. H. Martin had died suddenly at her home in Wagoner, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Martin was 85 years old and was the oldest sister of the late Mr. Moore.
With her family she lived in Ruston a number of years. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. W. M. Rinehart of Wagoner, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mr. Martin and three sons, Fred, Maurice and Willie preceded her in death a number of years ago.


Mrs. W. H. (Mollie) Martin, 84, died suddenly Monday afternoon, June 4, 1945, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. M. Rinehart. Death was caused by a massive cerebral hemorrhage.
The widow of one of Wagoner's best known early day merchants, Mrs. Martin was also the mother of the late M. A. Martin, widely known Wagoner and Muskogee banker. Funeral services for Mrs. Martin will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the home of McQuarrie Avenue with the Rev. E. J. Jameson officiating. Assisting will be the Rev. A. S. Cameron, pastor of the First Methodist Church, and the Rev. B. H. Elsey, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of the Hersman Funeral Home.
Mrs. Martin is survived by one daughter, Mrs. W. M. Rinehart; two brothers, T. C. and Charles Moore, of Ruston, Louisiana; and five grandchildren, Miss Martha Rinehart, Wagoner; Mrs. Clarence Bowers, Muskogee; Waltman Martin, Fort Worth, Texas; Staff Sgt. Alan Martin, U. S. Army Air Corps, Coffeyville, Kansas; Mrs. Stanley Disney, Washington, D. C., and Miss Marjean Martin, also of Washington, D. C.
Pallbearers will be George F. Waggoner, Fred W. Martin, Walter J. Sleeper, N. V. Leonard and Dick Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Biggerstaff, T. H. Morton, Alex Wise, of Muskogee, W. O. Rittenhouse, W. A. Lamon, L. B. Fenton and W. W. Van Noy.
