On Aug. 14, 1950 he was united in marriage to LaNelle Bailey at Piggott, AR, she survives of the home in Malden.
Mr. Sturgeon was of the General Baptist faith, a retired farmer and landowner, a member of the Four Mile Masonic Lodge #212 in Campbell, a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II, and a former trustee and ex-officio treasurer of the Cottonhill Township.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jack Sturgeon and Tony Sturgeon; by one daughter, Mary Nell; by one brother, Bill Sturgeon; by two sisters, Velma Arrington and Bernice Peck; by four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred Sturgeon and Elmond Sturgeon; and two sisters, Freda Gulley and Alta Mincey.
Visitation was held at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden. Funeral services were conducted in the Bradshaw Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dick Murray and Rev. James Black officiating.
Interment followed at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden with Bradshaw Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
