He was the son of Samuel Chase and Mary Dudley Chase.

He married, first, Thankful Sherman, on Nov 28,1759 at Grafton,MA.

He married, second, Sarah Hall, on Oct 22,1770 at Hollis,NH. She was the daughter of David Hall and Elizabeth Prescott Hall of Sutton,MA.

Children(by first marriage): Prudence Chase Hall, Elizabeth Chase Smith, Mary Chase Brewer, and twin infant sons.

Children(by second marriage): Jonathan Chase(Here?), David Hall Chase, Sarah Hall Chase Smith, Lebbeus Hall Chase, Pamelia Chase Paine, and Gratia Chase Torrey.

Erected in Memory ofGen. Jonathan Chase a free and accepted Mason, one of the first settlers in this town. He filled a variety of offices with honour to himself and advantage to the public. On the 14th of Jan 1800 departed this Life. In the 68th year of his age.

Gravesite Details

The gravestone for General Jonathan Chase was carved by JONAS STEWART, [Sr.] of Claremont, NH. This carver produced gravestones from 1770 to 1822. He was the carver of choice for the CHASE FAMILY.
