OXFORD, Ia., Feb. 24. - (Special) - Word has been received here of the death of Charles Doty, 82, native and long a resident of Johnson county, who died recently at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ward of Omaha, Neb., following a lingering illness.
The decedent was born in Johnson county, the son of Louis and Hannah Doty who were pioneer residents of this section. He had lived here all his life until he went to Omaha six years ago. On June 23, 1875, he married Amanda Babacock who preceded him in death seven years.
Surviving are a son, Fred, of Los Angeles, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Belle Sherman Roberts (adopted daughter) of Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Ward of Omaha.
