She was born in Lynn, Indiana to George and Mildred Inez Schell Hulvey. She married George Stafford on September 11, 1959 at Streator, Il. He died December 23, 1982. Alma had been previously to Almon Washington Malone on February 22, 1947. They divorced on April 2, 1959.
