He was born November 2, 1947, in Fayetteville, to Lloyd Everette Reed Jr. and Marion Talley Reed.
He was owner and operator of Butch's Garage in Brentwood for 24 years.
He was a member of Chester Free Will Baptist Church and served in the National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Reed; two sons, Bryant and Bart Reed, both of Winslow; a daughter, Michelle Reed of Brentwood; three brothers, Len Reed of Greenland and Rick and Gary Reed, both of Brentwood; three sisters, Kathy Johnson of Greenland and Betty Lyons and Donna Lutz, both of Winslow; and five grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Chester Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
