"Mrs. Alice Colome is seriously ill at the home of her father, Louis Moran."
From the Mellette County Pioneer, Wood, SD, 15 Mar 1912, page 1:
"Death of Mrs. Alice Colombe. The sad news of the death of Mrs. Alice Colombe was received a little too late for last week's issue of the Pioneer. She died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lous Moran, ion the 11th inst., Sunday afternoon, at 2 o'clock. Mrs. Colombe was an accomplished young woman, well liked and highly respected by all who knew her. She was injured in a run away last fall, since then she has been more or less under a doctors care. But her injuries proved fatal. Besides her father, mother, brother and sisters, she leaves four little girls without a mother, to mourn her death. The whole community sympathizes with the whole family, especially the children. The funeral will be conducted by Rev. Dallas Shaw of the Episcopal Church Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock."
