Peter Milo Abbott, 72, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, May 10, 2009 Dyersburg Manor Nursing Center.
He was a farmer, had served as minister of music at several churches, served as a summer missionary in Alaska and served in the National Guard and was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Carney Funeral Home in Blytheville, Ark. with Dr. Don McCulley officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Andrew Abbott and wife, Gena, and Cayce T. Abbott and special friend, Leigh Ann, all of Dyersburg; a sister, Billie Jean Barnes of Birmingham, Ala.; two brothers, Ben Abbott and wife, Imogene of Ridgely and Jonathan Abbott and wife, Margaret, of Blytheville, Ark.; the mother of his children, Jennie Sue Wadley of Dyersburg; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, C.M. and Pauline "Polly" Preuett Abbott.
