He married my grandmother, Ellen Bennett, on 5 July 1862. Little is known about Grandpa Egbert as he died before I was born. He died on 31 may 1897 at Fairview, Idaho and was buried there. Grandpa and Grandma ran away to be married as grandma's parents opposed their marriage because she was only sixteen years old. They were the parents of ten children; four boys and six girls. "
