Mrs. Langford Suddenly Ill, Died Last Eve
Widely Known and Lifelong Resident of County. Was Stricken Last Wednesday
Mrs. Emma L. Langford, 67, wife of Anderson Langford, of Numa, widely known and lifelong resident of this county, died at the St. Joseph Mercy hospital last evening after a short illness.
Mrs. Langford was taken ill Wednesday and rushed to the hospital where, in spite of every care she failed to rally.
Emma Lulu Ware, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Ware, was born in the community west of Centerville and grew to womanhood there. On January 22, 1899, she united in marriage with Anderson Langford, who survives her passing. To this union eight children were born, two of whom preceded their mother in death, an infant son, and daughter Ruth.
Living children are as follows: Mrs. Roy Thompson of Numa, Mrs. Nick Radovich, of Rathbun, Mrs. Jean Kearville of Centerville, Miss Anna Langford of Clinton, Mrs. George Rollins of Los Angeles and Sergeant Tillman Anderson Langford, of 425th Night Fighter Squadron somewhere in Germany.
In addition to her husband and children Mrs. Langford leaves one brother, Carl Ware, former resident of this city, who now resides at Clemsen, South Carolina. One brother, Elmer Ware, preceded her in death.
There are three grandchildren, Nickie Radovich, Alice Jean Thompson and Richard Langford.
Mrs. Langford was a kind and loving mother and good neighbor who had a host of friends and relatives who mourn her death. She had been a member of the Christian church since she was 13 years of age.
Funeral services will be held at the Christian church in Numa Sunday at 2 p. m., with Dr. H. E. Trimble, pastor of the Central Church of Christ here, officiating. Burial will be in Numa.
