Mary Lucinda Wise Foley was the daughter of John B. Wise and ELizabeth Cornelia Chance Wise. Her mother died a few months after her birth of a heart disease. John B. and Elizabeth Cornelia Wise had two children prior to the birth of Mary Lucinda. They were Piccola and Abraham Edward Wise. After being widowed, John married Nancy Copley who had two sons, Albert and Leonard Monroe, prior to marrying John. These two were step-brothers to Mary Lucinda Wise. Nancy Copley had two daughters, Addial and Ethel prior to marrying John B. Wise, so these two are also step sisters to Mary Lucinda, Abraham Edward and Piccola Wise. Nancy Copley must have died soon after the birth of the youngest child. After that John married Madeline Nalley who had a daughter (Norah) prior to their marriage and she and John had the following children, Sarah, Grant, Margaret, Jerauld, Fern, Hazel, Dorothy and John Lester Wise.
