Madge A. Porter, 68, died Friday, Jan. 24.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, at First United Methodist Church. Rev. Mike Struve, pastor, officiated. Burial was at the Porter Ranch by Wright Funeral Home.

Mrs. Porter, born in Alanreed, married Glen Porter in 1934 in Shamrock. They moved to Wheeler in 1934 and to the Porter Ranch in 1940. He died in 1949. Mrs. Porter has operated the ranch since. She was a member of First Methodist Church, the Wednesday Study Club, Order of the Eastern Star and the Texas Cowbelles Association.

Pallbearers were: Grayson Benson, Robert Henderson, Russell Henderson, Jamie Porter, Manson Porter and Richard Porter.

Survivors include two sons, Jim and Duane Glen, both of Wheeler; a daughter, Glenda Wilson o0f Lakewood, N.J.; a sister, Velma Green of Wheeler; and eight grandchildren.

The family requests memorials be to the American Heart Association or a favorite charity.
