Ralph E. Crandell, formerly of Omaha, but since engaged in the mercantile business at Chapman, Neb., died in Denver, Colo., Wednesday, September 4, after an illness of several months. Mr. Crandell was born at Cedar Rapids, Ia., May 26, 1872, and was the son of George Crandell, who for many years was traveling auditor for the Union Pacific railroad.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Weller Crandell, daughter of Charles F. Weller, president of the Richardson Drug Co.; Ralph, Jr., aged 17; Alice Elvira, 15; Catherine, 6; and Elizabeth, 4. Mr. Crandell's sister, Miss Marion Crandell, formerly of Omaha, who was in France with the American expeditionary forces as a nurse, was recently filled in a hospital which was bombed by the Germans.

The body will be brought to Omaha Friday morning and private funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Titus Lowe at the Forest Lawn chapel Friday morning at 10 o'clock - Omaha Bee
