WEST CHAZY — DANIEL C. MOORE, 83, of Route 22, West Chazy, N.Y., died at his home Tuesday, April 7, 2009, surrounded by his loving family by his side under the care of Hospice. Dan was born in Ellenburg Center July 15, 1925, the son of Daniel and Flossie (Ormsby) Moore.
Dan married the love of his life, Meredith Burdeau. Dan worked for Harringtons Dodge dealership from 1957 to 1966, when the family moved to West Chazy, where he opened his own garage. He worked in his favorite spot in the garage turning wrenches, which is what he loved.
Dan is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Meredith; and daughters, Diane and husband, Robert Matott, and Judy and husband, Fred Brean. "Pappa" also left grandchildren, Robbie Matott, Daniel and wife, Niki Matott, Kristie and Scott Barnaby; also Mandy and James Hack, Kellie Brean, Michelle and Dan Jolicoeur. He also leaves behind loving great-grandchildren, Dillon and Lindsey Hack, Hannah and Maggie Jolicoeur, True O'Toole, Devin Matott, Alicia Matott, Logan Barnarby, Triston Barnaby; a brother-in-law, Arnold, and his wife, Pearl Burdeau; and sister-in-law, Muriel Burdeau; also many nieces and nephews.
Dan was predeceased by daughters, Karen Lee, Patricia Ann; and son, Daniel Amasa.
There will be no calling hours. Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
