EBER L. CARRIER DIES IN VIRGIL
Eber L. Carrier, 88, of the Town of Virgil died early this morning at his home after an illness of several weeks.
He was born January 24, 1861 in Sullivan County, the son of Albert and Ann Tiggott Carrier, and had lived on his farm in Virgil since 1904.
Surviving him are: a son, Theodore Carrier of Virgil; two daughters, Mrs. Laura Thiesen of Buffalo and Mrs. Helen E. Dalley of Virgil; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He served as Justice of Peace of the Town of Virgil, and was a member of Cortland City Lodge 175, I.O.O.F., Cortlandville Grange, the Virgil Methodist Church and the Farm Bureau.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Virgil Methodist Church, and interment will be in Virgil Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday evening at the Strong Memorial Chapel in Dryden from 7 to 9 o'clock.
