Son of George Brown Bailey and Elizabeth Young Bailey. Born in Millcreek area of Salt Lake City. Married Victoria Caroline Price on 1 November 1883 in Salt Lake City. They had 12 children: George Reuben, Edith Caroline, Chrystal Belle, Elizabeth Irene, Waldmar Francis, Gerwin Pratt, Joseph Edgar, Marguerite Myrl, Beatrice Winifred, Verna Victoria, Iris Elaine, and Mildred Lenore Bailey.

George S. Bailey, 73, retired farmer, died at his home, 1628 East Thirty-third South street, Sunday at 5:30 p. m. of pernicious anemia. He was born in Mill Creek April 13, 1859 and lived there all his life. He was a member of the L. D. S. church.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Victoria C. Bailey, and the following children: George R. Bailey and Mrs. Amos B Jacklin, Blackfoot, Idaho; Mrs. W. E. Thomas, Riverton; W. Francis, Gerwin P., Beatrice W., Verna V., and Mildred L. Bailey and Mrs. Erland Sondrup, Salt Lake; Joseph E. Bailey, Los Angeles; and Mrs. Lester M. Norberg, Coalville.
