Mrs. Arvilla Mae QUACKENBUSH, 52, 500 West Seventh street, died at 10:45 a.m. Thursday at Woodlawn hospital after shooting herself with a 4.10 gauge shotgun at her home. Dr. Wayne KNOCHEL, incoming county coroner, pronounced her dead at the hospital. Born Sept. 23, 1916, at Culver, she was the daughter of Alvin and Bertha FRY POLLEY. Her marriage was April 29, 1944, in Athens, to Charles M. QUACKENBUSH, who survives. She was an employee of the Topps Manufacturing company and had lived the majority of her life in Fulton and Marshall counties. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Rhode ZENTEN, LaPorte; Mrs. Ralph (Mabel) ALDERFER, R.R. 4, Rochester, and Mrs. Donald (Sylvia) MYERS, Plymouth; two brothers Harry POLLEY, Plymouth, and Ernest POLLEY, Chesterton, and step-daughter, Mrs. Dalton (Virginia) KINDIG, Mesa, Ariz., and two step-grandchildren. A daughter, one son, a sister and one brother preceded in death. Final rites will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Foster & Good funeral home. The Rev. C. J. MOWRER will officiate. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery here. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Saturday.
