Friends may call at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg from 6-8 p.m. and at the stake center from 10-10:40 a.m. prior to the services. Burial will be at the Plano Cemetery. The family requests donations made to his son's mission fund in lieu of flowers.
He was born Aug. 1, 1958 to Harold Hymas and Louise Hymas. He grew up in Plano and graduated from Sugar-Salem High School in Sugar City. He served an LDS mission in Cataina, Italy. He graduated from Rick's College in Rexburg and Idaho State University in Pocatello.
He married Denise Quirl in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple March 1st, 1980. He worked at Artco for four years. He worked at Ricks College for more than 14 years, the last 3 1/2 years as the registrar. He was honored as an exemplary at Ricks last spring.
He was an active member of the LDS Church and served in various positions including elders quorum president and counselor in a bishopric. He was serving as Young Men's President at the time of his death.
He was a wonderful husband and father and loved by all who knew him. He was friendly with everyone, and his life was spent in service of others.
He is survived by his wife of Sugar City; children, Jason Hymas, who is serving an LDS mission in Brazil, and Carina Hymas, Brendie Hymas, Amy Hymas, and Makell Hymas all of Sugar City; his mother of Plano; siblings, Doug (Linda) Hymas of Rexburg, Rick (Carol) Hymas, John (Becky Hymas and Layne (Euleza) Hymas, all of Sugar City, Rob (Peggy) Hymas and Kevin (Louise) Hymas, both of Plano, and Janet (Kim) Reynolds of Ashton.
He was preceded in death by his father.
