CONNERSVILLE--Miss Mattie Effie Chance, 78 years old, died at 11 a.m. Monday. She resided at 221 West Twelfth street. She was a daughter of Virgil E. and Victoria Bayly Chance and was born at Chesterville, Ind. For many years she taught school at Dillsboro and in Fayette County. She retired in 1900. Miss Chance was a widely known Bible student and writer. She was a member of the Moore's Hill Methodist church.
Survivors are two brothers, I.O. Chance and O.F. Chance of Connersville.
Funeral services for Miss Chance will be conducted at 2 p.m., Wednesday at the Myers Funeral Home with Dr. Joseph G. Moore officiating. Burial will be in the City Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
