Mary Novak was the daughter of Charles and Christine Velek Novak, Lankin, ND. She grew up in North dakota and was united in marriage to Frank Tupa on June 10, 1935 at Lankin. After their marriage they ,lived in Canby, Minnesota, where her husband worked for the Ford dealership.
In 1944, they moved to Clear Lake, SD and they purchased the Ford dealership in 1955. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Ford agency until they retired in 1965. She has made her home in Clear lake until the time of her death.
They had two sons: William and Daniel. Three granddaughters: Sarah, Eliza, and Danielle.
