He served in WW I---WW II and the Korean Conflict. He enlisted in the Army May 6th 1917. He was assigned to Jefferson Barracks, Missouri for basic training on July 4th 1918. He sailed out of Boston Harbor and landed in Liverpool, England where he was assigned to the horse drawn field artillery (90th division), which consisted of 75 M.M. field pieces. During the First World War he was in England and France and served in the Army of Occupation in Germany. In WW II he served in the Ordnance Corps supporting troops in Europe during the Campaign through France and Germany. In 1952 he returned to Germany and in 1955 was assigned to White Sands Missile Range where he retired on May 1st 1959.
Frank was preceded in death by his previous wife Irene E. Hollar, his parents Charles and Harriet Hollar and by 4 brothers.
He is survived by his wife Geneva Hollar; 3 step-children, 7 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, plus many nieces and nephews.
Frank dedicated himself to the Lord Sept. 29, 2002 by confessing his sins and asking God to forgive him of his sins and declaring that Jesus, the Son of God is his Lord and Savior. To all his family and friends Frank says if you too will come to God, in the same way, one day we will all meet again together, in Heaven to enjoy each others company. The Bible says to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Frank is now with the Lord, enjoying the presence of the Lord and his loved ones that went on before him. Frank looks forward to seeing each and all of you again in Eternity. According to Frank's wishes.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a graveside service held at 9 AM Monday, Nov. 1, 2004 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery with the Mason's of Las Cruces officiating.
