Bryson City - Leona Cochran Medford, 91, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, after a long period of declining health.

She was the daughter of the late Warren E. Barker and Nancy Brendle Barker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dock Matthew Cochran, and her last husband, Reuben Enloe Medford. She was also preceded in death by five children who died at an early age. She was a member of Alarka Baptist Church, but attended Almond Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Warren E. Cochran Sr., and wife, Nancy, of Marion, Richard O. Cochran and wife, Ann, of Lanexa, Va.; two stepsons, James Medford, of Hendersonville, and Robert Medford, of Nebo; grandchildren, Donna, Lisa, Scott, Warren Jr., Beverly and Michael; ten greatgrandchildren and one greatgreat-granddaughter; and one sister, Edna Cochran McHan, of Bryson City.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Tucker and Warren E. Cochran Jr. will officiate.

Burial will be held in Brendle Hill Cemetery
