Gerald "Sunshine" Arnold, age 51, of Church Hill went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at the Wellmont Holston valley Hospital & Medical Center.

Gerald was born in Sullivan County and was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County. He was a member of the McPheeters Bend Baptist Church and loved the outdoors.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Bertie Arnold. Maternal grandparents, Will & Nannie Hutson, Paternal grandparents, Carl,. & Hazel Arnold. Several aunts and uncles.

Survivors include his father, J.S. Arnold of the home. Brother, Jimmy "Punkin" Arnold of the home. Sisters, Linda Goad of Church Hill, Janet & F.D. Derrick of Rogersville. Special Uncle & Aunt, Carl, Jr. & Mary Arnold. Nephews, Andy, Jason and Aaron Derrick, Brian Goad, Survived by several other Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and a host of many friends.

Calling hours are from 5 to 7 pm Friday at the Johnson Funeral Home , and anytime at the residence.

Funeral services will be conducted 3 pm Saturday at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Roberts and Rev. Ronnie Grimes officiating. Burial will follow in the McPheeters Bend Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Andy, Jason and Aaron Derrick, Rick Arnold, Alex and Alvis Arnold, Micheal Gilbert and Randy Arnold.

Honorary pallbearers will be Zachery Arnold, Mark Kincheloe, George Calhoun, Jon Summey, Larry and David Ball.

In lieu of flowers the family rquest that memorial contributions can be made to the Johnson Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses
