Clarice M. Holte was born on December 16, 1912 in Keene Township rural Ulen, MN, the youngest child of Martin O. and Clara (Sather) Holte. She graduated from Hawley High School in Hawley, MN and attended Interstate Business College in Fargo. She did secretarial work for Production Credit Association where she met Asa Sherritt. They were married on June 7, 1950 at Olivet Lutheran Church, Fargo. After the death of her husband in 1962, she continued to live on the family farm until 1993. Clarice then moved to Fargo and in 1994, she moved to Arthur to be near her sister Alma Self who entered the Good Samaritan Center. In 1997, she moved to Hunter, ND.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Hunter, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Royal Neighbors.
She is survived by a son, Roger (Sheila) Sherritt of Blanchard, ND; a daughter, Elizabeth (Henry) Fok of Huntington Beach, CA; four grandchildren, Justin (Kate) Sherritt of Grand Forks, ND, Tanya (Mitch) Wagner of Fargo, Zach and Tyler Sherritt of Blanchard; three great grandchildren, Brady and Jaden Sherritt of Grand Forks, Dylan Wagner of Fargo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and five brothers.
Funeral: Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at 2 PM at the First Presbyterian Church, Hunter with visitation one hour prior.
Burial: Hunter Cemetery.
