Norman Everett Russell, a Hawthorne resident for the past 48 years, died on February 7, 1998 at Mount Grant General Hospital. He was born on December 15, 1923 in Grandview, Arkansas to Roy Alvin and Frances Kay (Lee) Russell. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a retired civil service worker. He was a member of Ashley Lodge No. 66 A. F. & A. M. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Alvin Russell and Frances Kay Owens; his brother, Dale Carter Russell; and a grandson. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marguerite; his daughter, Janet Sue Goodman of Ridgecrest, California; his son, Steven Russell of Kalispell, Montana; his brother, Ralph Russell of Harrison, Arkansas; his sister, Mary Augusta Pyatt of Paradise, California; and four grandchildren.
