Edgar resident Archie R. Melvin, 91, died Wednesday, Nov. 22,1995, at Community Care in Edgar.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Urbauer-Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Edgar with the Revs. Steve Marsh and Harold Fox officiating.
Burial will be in Edgar Cemetery.
Mr. Melvin was born July 16,1904, in Swanton. He was a lifelong resident of the Nelson, Edgar and Davenport areas. He was a longtime farmer, had a mail route between Oak and Nelson and was a butcher in Davenport. He married Ethel DeVore,
who preceded him in death.
On May 6, 1936, he married Ruby Skinner at Nelson.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Davenport.
Survivors are his wife; a son, Morris Skinner of Papillion; a sister, Vella Bauman of Nora; six grandchildren,
14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by a daughter, an infant son, two sisters and two brothers.
