Funeral Services Held For Mrs. P.L. Ramsey
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. at the Methodist church for Mrs. P.L. Ramsey who passed away at her country home Saturday night at 10:30p.m. following an extended illness. Rev. John A. English was in charge of the services.
Martha Ann Hamilton was born in Cherokee, Alabama, and would have been 81 years old her next birthday in July. On January 3, 1886, she was united in marriage to P.L. Ramsey and during that same year joined the Methodist church.
About 23 years ago the Ramsey family moved to Wheeler county from Mangum, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Ramsey is survived by her husband, two daughters, Maggie and Bessie of the home, and two sons, Fred of Dallas and R.L. of Briscoe and 5 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Flower bearers were Mesdames George Bradstreet, Douglas Greenhill, Clarence Holt, Will Burk, Fred Bledsoe and Patsy Ann Ramsey, Virginia Greenhill and Dolores Greenhill.
Pallbearers were Clarence Zybach, Jake Tarter, Will Burk, Douglas Greenhill, Jim Harper and Beauford Randolph.
Out of town relatives attending the services were Mrs. Zula Randolph and son, Beauford and daughters, Lucy and Susie, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Harper and two children, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Rider and daughter, and Mrs. Fred Bledsoe, all from Crowell and Mrs. Hattie Crowell and Mrs. Sam Redwine of Seymour.
Interment was made in the Wheeler cemetery under the direction of the Hunt Funeral Home.
