In Memory of
Aunt Myrle
Romans 11:33

Once more we have come to the occasion,
Of the last act that can be done,
For One who has journeyed with us
One who, her reward has won.
Perhaps we would try to question,
The way death is brought about;
But to each one of us is given the Words
"God's ways are past finding out."

God's Word is the source of our comfort,
Man's word alone will not heal;
But in God's Book are great promises,
His love and compassion we feel.
He promised to build us a mansion,
He left long ago to prepare;
And comfort comes today in knowing
Our loved ones already live there.

In this life they heard of heaven,
And the place Jesus went to build,
They gave their heart in surrender;
To the Lord their lives they did yield.
A while they had for preparation
To make sure at last to go
To live eternally in a home prepared
By Jesus, who loved man so.

And though we miss each one of them,
We could not ask them to stay
To be wasted and tempted in this life;
Its best when God has His way.
For trial and testing is over,
Forever they have been set free
To enjoy the beauties of a mansion
They will live in for eternity.

Many memories we will hold of them,
Of things done long ago
Of corrections, instruction, of sacrifice
Made because they loved us so.
But mostly we remember their example
Of giving themselves to the Lord,
A surrender that has now given
To each their heavenly reward.

We too must be an example,
Must show others the love of God.
May we always live for Christ
Whatever pathway we trod.
Then when our time comes for moving
We will move to a mansion above
And somehow I believe it will be
Next door to those we love.
