-DEATH CALLS MRS. WILLARD WILSON-
Mrs. J. Willard Wilson Passes Away Saturday Morning After Nine Day Illness - Funeral Held Tuesday Afternoon.

Mrs. J. Willard Wilson passed away Saturday morning at 6 o'clock, after an illness lasting only nine days, pneumonia being the cause of her death. Her death came as a shock to her many friends, following, as it did, such a brief illness. Mrs. Wilson had been one of the hostesses at the West Ashland Women's club meeting at the Landon home the same week that she was taken sick.

Mary Parks was born near Ashland, Nebr., May 4th, 1866 and died April 9th, 1921, aged 54 years, 11 months, and 5 days. She was married to J. Willard Wilson on March 19th, 1884, and for thirty years they made their home on the Wilson homestead, nine miles west of Ashland. During their residence there she became a member of the United Brethren church in the community, a church that was organized there more than thirty years ago. Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Wilson, all of whom are still living: Mrs. Lena Adams, Kimball, Nebr.; Miss Anna, of San Francisco, Calif.; Mrs. Elizabeth Duerig, of Long Pine, Nebr.; Lloyd of near Ashland; and Wilfred and Jack, who live at home.

Others who survive her, are her husband; her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Parks, of West Ashland; two brothers, T.C. and Jesse Parks, of near Ashland; and a sister, Mrs. Emma Stewart, of Akron, Colo.; besides many nieces and four grandchildren.

Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Eastern Star lodge of Ceresco, and her membership was never transferred from that chapter. She was a member of the Degree of Honor, also an enthusiastic worker in the West Ashland Woman's club, having been a member since its organization. For the most part, however, her activities were centered in the home. About two years ago the farm home was left, and Mr. and Mrs. Wilson and the two younger boys came to Ashland, where they have since made their home and where her death occurred.

During her lifetime, spent entirely in the Ashland vicinity, Mrs. Wilson built for herself, a definite place in the hearts of Ashland people as was well attested by the many families that gathered at the Wilson home Tuesday to express by their presence the esteem in which she is held. All of her children, her mother, two brothers and sister were present, and also Mr. Elmer Campbell and daughter of Steele City, Nebr.; Miss Ila Busbee of Steele City, Leah Smith of Colorado, and Maude Erehart of western Nebraska.

The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Wilson residence, the service being conducted by Rev. D. Beggs of the Congregational church. The Mathews chapter Order of Eastern Star, had charge of the service at the grave. Interment was made in the Ashland cemetery.
