Buckley Alden enlisted as a Private in the Independent Company of the Fourth Michigan Volunteer Infantry on February 22, 1864, for 3 years service. He was on detached service with Company F of the First Michigan Infantry by order July 2, 1864, at Petersburg, Virginia, and wounded on June 5, 1864. Buckley transferred to Company K of the Reorganized Fourth Michigan Infantry by order June 6, 1865, and was discharged on September 8, 1865, at Detroit, Michigan.
