Funeral services were held at the Anderson Funeral home, Sunday, June 17, for Samuel Boynton Hardy, who passed away Wednesday, June 13, at a local hospital. Rev. Johnson of the Congregational church officiated. Interment was made in the family lot at Kinkead cemetery. The pallbearers were A. E. Bloom, Archie Brakken, H. E. Ripley, Ira Dick, Charlie Braunschweig, all of Alexandria, and Albert Johnson of Harwood, N.D.
Samuel Boynton Hardy was born in Alexandria, May 11, 1862, a son of Noah Newell and Celeste Elizabeth Hardy. At the time of his death he was 69 years, one month and two days old. He grew to manhood in Alexandria and at the age of 19 went to Montana and took over his father's ranch. He returned to Alexandria in 1911 and married Theresa Johanson on Feb. 14. He entered the real estate and insurance business, making Alexandria his permanent home.
He leaves to mourn, his wife and two daughters, Mrs. J. L. Bloom (Dorothy) of Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Eugene Braunschweig (Lorayne) of Alexandria. Two grandchildren, Andria and Charles Eugene Braunschweig, four sisters, Mrs. Frank Moulton of St. John, Wash.; Mrs. Loren Curtis of Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. Al Bohnsack of Germantown, N.Y.; Earl Morrison of Glenwood, one brother, Wilbur, of Carlos.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Mrs. Arnegard and Mrs. Leslie Penny, three brothers, Lewis, Joseph and Augustus.
