Funeral services for Mae Dean Harter, 97, of Tyler are scheduled for Thursday May 12, 2016 @ 11:00 am with Rev. Anthony Sisemore officiating @ The Woods Baptist Church. Visitation will follow the service. Burial will be in Wingate Cemetery in Wingate under the direction of Winters Funeral Home.
Mae Dean passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 in Tyler.
She was born on July 24, 1918 in Comanche to the late Richard Dean and Lois Brinson Collins. Mae Dean and her late husband, Troy, taught Youth Bible Classes for many years. She liked to do crossword puzzles and took care of her large family.
Survivors include her children, Barbara Rodgers(Dennis) and Gary Harter (Birdie), numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 65 years, William Troy Harter, parents, granddaughter Denise Rodgers Smith, brothers Aldridge and Weldon Collins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd, Tyler, Texas 75701 or The Woods Baptist Church, 4502 University Blvd., Tyler, Texas 75707.
